("HomeHero," "we," "us," or "our") operates the HomeHero platform, including the website at homeheroalliance.com, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). - Financial information: Income, employment, credit authorization for financing applications through LendHero (processed by our lending partners)
- Identity verification: Government-issued ID, Social Security Number (for financing and contractor verification), and tax identification information
- Contractor information: License numbers, insurance certificates, portfolio materials, references, and business information
- Payment information: Bank account details for escrow disbursements (contractors) and project payments
- Communications: Messages, emails, and support inquiries you send to us

- Device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, time spent, clicks, and navigation patterns
- Location data: General geographic location based on IP address; precise location if you grant permission for mobile app features

- Improve our platform: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features, fix bugs, and develop new services
- Comply with legal obligations: Meet CRA documentation requirements, respond to regulatory inquiries, and fulfill lender reporting obligations
- Prevent fraud: Detect and prevent fraudulent transactions, unauthorized access, and other illegal activities
- Marketing: Send promotional communications about HomeHero products and services (you may opt out at any time)

Service Providers
We share information with third-party vendors who help us operate our platform, including payment processors, cloud storage providers, background check services, identity verification providers, and email delivery services. These providers are contractually bound to use your information only to provide services to us.
Lending Partners
If you apply for renovation financing through LendHero, we share your financial and personal information with our CDFI and bank lending partners to process your loan application. These partners are bound by their own privacy policies and applicable financial privacy laws (including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act).
Contractors
We share homeowner project information (property address, scope, and contact details) with matched contractors as necessary to facilitate your renovation project.
Referral Partners
HeroAgents and other referral partners who introduce clients to HomeHero may receive project status updates related to clients they referred.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, prevent fraud, or ensure safety.
Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control.
Financial Data
HomeHero takes the security of financial information with the highest priority. Specific protections include:
- Credit application data is transmitted directly to our licensed lending partners using bank-grade encryption and is never stored on HomeHero servers in unencrypted form
- Bank account information for escrow disbursements is processed through our payment processors using tokenization — HomeHero does not store full account numbers
- All financial data transmission uses TLS 1.3 encryption
- Access to financial records is restricted to authorized personnel with a legitimate need and is logged for audit purposes

- Multi-factor authentication for all internal system access

- Strict access controls and the principle of least privilege
- SOC 2 Type II compliance (in progress as of 2026)
No system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at security@homeheroalliance.com.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our Services and meet legal obligations:
- Account data: Retained for the life of your account plus 7 years after closure
- Financial/loan records: Retained for 7 years as required by applicable financial regulations
- CRA documentation: Retained for 5 years per Community Reinvestment Act requirements
- Project records: Retained for 5 years after project completion
- Contractor verification records: Retained for 5 years after last project
- Marketing data: Retained until you opt out or request deletion
Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 18, please contact us at privacy@homeheroalliance.com and we will promptly delete such information.
California Residents
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to Know: The categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell (we do not sell personal information)
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
- Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information

Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (at the address on your account) or by posting a prominent notice on our website at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of our Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
